Stay away from this nut job. He is trouble and appears to be a mental. Never respond to any of his emails, just trash them and block any future.

I answered an ad of his a couple of years ago. After seeing pics, and reading his long-winded sales pitch, I told him thanks, but no thanks. I was looking for a ready-to-race bike...not another project. He took offense and began a series of insults. I was preparing to surprise him with a visit to his front door.

Anyway, a couple of months ago, I answered another of his ads. He has multiple user names, it seems. When I realized it was him, the following exchange occurred:

Karl
This is Todd Applegate
AHRMA member..

I am the owner of the 83 Rm 250 D project..

My asking price is $ 1200.00 without the spares
and $ 1800.00 with all my spares for this bike..

If you would like to discuss the condition and see photos thereafter, send your phone number and we can proceed..

I have many spare parts, cosmetic, hard parts, wheels, gas tank, CDI,
etc, plus NOS spares for the 83 Rm 250 D.
Gaskets, . I would have to compile the complete list of NOS parts.

Thanks for the inquiry
Todd Applegate

And then:

PS
The motor needs a rod kit-
I have a spare crank as well
Spare clutch side case,
I actually may have two spare clutch case covers.
Motor will require rebuild on the bottom end to be complete
Includes new piston kit with rebore on the cylinder to 3rd overbore ?

I have two spare Wiseco pistons also, larger or smaller sizes ?
and i may even have another cylinder.

The swingarm -pivot bolt was frozen in the lower end, and i had to extract it from the case.

I replaced the swingarm. with another swingarm from the same year model.

The shock has been rebuilt by Pro Action suspension and is set up for 185lbs intermediate rider, revalved.

New michelin tires, front and rear,
renthal bars, or Tag, I cant remember
Nos front number plate, new
nos front and rear fenders,
Nos side panel, Left side,
Right side is used.
NOS radiator shrouds, plus other used radiator shrouds.

new air filter, Uni
all new axles, front, rear, swingarm

The swingarm linkage pivot bearings for the upper struts seemed fine, I never re greased them, but they require lubrication.
or cleaning..

new Rk chain, 520, non o-ring-----
I dont like the weight of the O ring chains, but your welcome to put an O ring on the bike.
new chain comes with the purchase of the bike
I may have another new rear sprocket.
new cables, clutch and throttle, Motion pro
plus used original cables in excellent condition
The stock perches were gone by the time i purchased the bike so the perches are Motion pro or Sunline.

CR style throttle, Motion pro
New levers, SUnline,
plus i may have one stock lever..?
I cant remember.

Seat has one rear insert problem on the seat.
Aftermarket seat cover, very nice

Spare seat available, has insert problems like all of them
base is excellent except for the inserts which will need fabricated.

Forks are 85 RM 250 F front forks, with disc brake front wheel.
Thats what came on the RM 250 when i purchased it.

I have the correct drum front brake wheel, but not the 43mm front forks for the RM..

I may have new front drum brake pads for it, EBC...Ill have to look in my parts alotment.

Selling this RM to purchase another Honda...

PS: I know where another 83 RM 250 D is for parts which has stress problems with the frame, but a good motor..and mostly original.

Thanks
Todd Applegate

I didn't reply. A couple days later:

are you interested in the RM 250 D ?

My reply:
Not any longer. I haven't forgotten the previous experience with you. Had I known it was yours, I wouldn't have bothered with the inquiry. Which, incidentally, was simply a request for pictures and not another long-winded dissertation.

Then, from him:
save your Rhetoric for someone else..

PS: Why dont you offer a job to Buddy Johnson delivering pizzas
since your in the Welfare relief business !

Finally, my response:
I saw you at mid-Ohio last year, and I thought to myself, what a puny little prick. And then when I saw you "race", I sorta felt sorry for you. But there'll be no more of that.

I'll introduce myself to you come next July. And when I do, please, speak to me face-to-face in the manner that you write.

Incidentally, I'll share your Buddy Johnson comment with Mark Holloway and the score of others who willingly helped out a truly decent guy. If you were on fire I wonder how many folk's would bother to piss on you.

You sir, have a less than enviable reputation and you wear it well.

KAP

I haven't heard from him since.

My advice to you, Simon? Give him a wide berth, and let him know who told you to do so.

Todd Applegate is a genuine A#1 jerk-off (are you listening Todd) this guy has nothing better to do than to answer ads stating he has what you want ect. but in reality is just trying to scam you. Get a job Todd and move out of your mothers house. This guy lives in Ohio and is to be avoided!!!!!

I havent had any real contact with him with bikes but have know about his methods for years. Saw him last year driving a Van for the Phoenix airport from the terminal to parking. Seemed decent if you were not talking bikes.

Twisted Evil Yes it seems as though quite a lot of us has had run in w/ Todd. I experienced the "todd tude" a couple of years ago...he said he had something i was looking for but i decided not to deal w/ him after a very aggressive sales pitch from him. when i declined he became very insulting. it came to"words" & i almost felt like tracking him down....he made me furiouse! i thought he was banned frome like everywhere? maybe he is & if anyone has dealings w/ him they need to understand his behavior better to just not deal w/ him.....Steve

Hello All I Dont understand why so many people dislikes Todd ,
I have had dealing with him over the years and had no problems he has helped me with lots of parts from the USA to the UK all good parts and cheap prices , We have lots of jokes together and i find he has a great sense humour !! ,Also he always reminds me that if he owes me money he never lets me forget and has sent many free posters signed by top riders ,
I think you guys should be carefull there seems to be a lot of slander going on and its not nce reading .
It seems that every one that dislikes him are very rude in return perhaps you should not be so defensive and take it more lightly the guy is only trying to make a living and he spends a lot of time finding old parts for people for no return !!,

I certainly would not work for nothing and i know you would not either
