 1973 Yamaha ATMX 125
Back in December, during the annual "Christmas Wish List" to Santa, I asked Santa for a 1973 ATMX. A few days later, Santa in the form of John Bergener of Roswell, NM, offered to sell me his.
So, my son Spencer and I took a 5 hour drive out to Arizona to pick it up, met up with John and brought it home. Thank you John for giving me such a good deal on this little gem.
This bike is somewhat outside of what I'm collecting, but I wanted it for two reasons. One, it was Yamaha's first serious attempt of putting out a 125 race bike. Yes, it's an enduro with a GYT kit but a lot of guys cut their teeth riding this bike and two, I saw this model raced back in 1973 by a guy named Hank Spaulding at Fort Riley, KS. Until the TMs and CRs came to the track, he won a lot of races on this bike.
It needs a few things and probably should be restored, but for now I'm adding few pieces as I find them and just enjoying it. Man, these bikes were tiny!

| LEGENDS OF MOTOCROSS – 1973
This is an unusual DVD, in that it has some great action footage of all the top motocrossers of 1973, but not one word of dialogue. There’s plenty of good music for a background and plenty of shots of the racers in the pits, but nary a caption to tell you who is who. Of course, when you see Weinert on the back of a jersey, there’s no real mystery.
Lots of familiar faces here: Mark Blackwell, Gary Jones, Brad Lackey, Marty Tripes, Peter Lamppu, Barry Higgins and many, many more. The DVD is 35 minutes long and good viewing. It takes you back to a simpler time. Cost is $10 and that includes postage anywhere in the US.| | Rick Sieman

| THE ORIGINAL DIRT BIKE MAGAZINE MOCKUP
In 1970, Rick Sieman made a 29 page mockup of what Dirt Bike magazine should look like. At that time, there were no pure dirt bike periodicals of any sort being published. Rick was the ad salesman for Big Bike and Choppers magazine at the time.
He went to the publisher, Bill Golden, with the mockup, and preached long and hard for Dirt Bike magazine to come into existence. After a month of grinding on the publisher, Golden agreed to let Rick try one issue, and if it didn’t fly, well that would be the end of that noble experiment.
That first issue sold a staggering 74% at that time when the average motorcycle magazine sold 42%. Soon after, Dirt Bike became a monthly publication. Within four years, the circulation was up to an astonishing 275,000 copies per month.
Rick has kept this crude mockup in his files since 1970, and it is now for sale. It’s only 29 seats of paper, hand-lettered, but this mockup was the document that changed dirt bike history forever. These were the years when Heikki Mikkola was the top racer on the factory Yamaha open class machines. Yamaha fielded a huge number of motocrossers in Europe and the USA. Even though Mikkola is the star of this DVD, Danny LaPorte is covered nicely. The emphasis is on racing in Europe and there’s even a good segment on sidecar racing. | I bought this bike the way it is. It has a NOS gas tank, I've never ran gas through it. NOS front and rear fender, nos left side number plate. An original right side plate...only painted to match. Chrome bars that are straight but not perfectly chrome. It has a 1980 rear swing arm, the 79 was round and black. The front plate is original but has wear. New dunlop tires.
The pipe and silencer are perfect, no dents. Rims are cherry. New seat cover, cables are all good. Frame was powder coated black.
The motor number is E007588 and KX080A
It needs an intake boot, the one on it is cracked. It's missing one rubber cap that goes on top of the fork tube. The kick starter is not on the bike, I have it in a box in storage, I just have to find it.

| 75'Suzuki TM-250. I finished this rebuild project about a year ago, And the new engine has about an hour of run time on it. Runs very strong but the new owner will need to dial in the jetting. I purchased this bike from the original owner where it was stored in a barn for the past 20 years. The following is a list of new parts and the work I have done to it. Everything stripped to bare metal and repainted with epoxy paint, Gas tank lined and re-painted (I'm not a profesional painter so the tank looks great for a racer, But not show quality). Engine completely rebuilt with new top-end, main bearings, all seals and gaskets. New 32mm mikuni, Circle F pipe, NOS coil, NOS cdi, Fly GP bend aluminum bars on risers, perches,Chain and sprockets (520 conversion),Oil injector removed Correctly with slinger and weep hole for main bearing,levers,cables,throttle assembly, grips, kill switch, All new plastic, seat cover, M-12 Michelins, 15" progressive shocks, Forks are from a 79' XR-500 (rebuilt), Wide foot pegs, New kick-lever (Rm-400)... I also, have a 1974 Hodaka Super Rat/hybird for sale. It has a 100cc Hodaka engine equipped with the very rare Jensen top end kit (I'm told that there where about 37 of these kits produced). The engine is fresh, with new piston/ring, bearings and seals. Really needs a close ratio 97/98 trans gearset, presently has a unusably low first gear, I have just been running the top four gears. Even with the wrong trans gears, this thing rips! I've discussed the porting with Harry Taylor, and with his tips, I ported this fairly conservativly, but it really pulls - can normally pass any other 100cc! Has new S12 tires, hand built airbox, stock low pipe.

Ohlins ITC shocks rebuilt, new 2nd over Wossner piston and bore job, Husqvarna Parts billet intake manifold, and Husky Products foot pegs. New fork seals and top-out washers, new Uni filter, cables. New chain rollers and rubbing blocks, new RK chain and sprockets (stock gearing). Header pipe has a dent and wheels were not rebuilt, but are sturdy and straight with new Dunlop tires.
