Stolen Bikes

I'd like to say that in the "old days" you didn't have to worry about your bikes being stolen, but then as now, if you're not careful someone will take off with them. However unlike the old days, the vintage community is a small one and if we can get the word out quickly, there's a chance we can get bikes back to their rightful owner before they are trashed by joyriders or worse, parted out on EBAY.

If your bike is stolen, get the information to us quickly, include as much information as possible and please send photos. A crime against one is a crime against the entire vintage community.

Well, it's happened again. One of our Northwest PV riders, Keith Geddis's trailer and bikes were stolen 2/8/06 sometime between 1 and 4pm. Where: Marysville, CA What: 12' Pac West trailer, 2 1981 Maicos, 1- 490 and 1 -400, both black with 78/79 metal tanks with orange writing (GP Maico), both with number 12. Who: Witnesses said they saw an older white suv hook the trailer. These scumbags cut the lock to Keiths property in broad daylight. You know who to call if you see them. Guy Coulston

1/4/06 1981 Bultaco 250 Huffman, Texas Stolen Contact Police xxx-xxx xxx-xxx

On December 30 I woke up to find out two of my vintage bikes were stolen off my trailer, in my yard, behind a chain link fence even though they were locked together. Since that time I have followed every lead but no luck yet. These were the bikes that I had intended to ride AHRMA in Daytona and Jefferson, Texas this year. I restored both of them including all machine work, painting, wheel building and engine work.

I dunno what someone intends to do with these. If they show up anywhere they should be easy to spot. The silver/black M-181 Frontera has a "Pursang" decal under the clearcoat and the blue and silver Alpina has my initials (glb) under the clear coat in the tank in front of the seat.

Serious reward for their return. A reward is also offered for the person who stole them: $150 per testicle, attached or not!!
