| "Andy Griffith" | | | ...or the Andy Griffen show, when Barney rode an old sidecar unit, Andy not thinking this was a good idea, and convinced him it was an old war machine and that it should be in a museum. - Shawn | |
| "Angels Hard As They Come"
| 1971 | | | A drug deal is foiled, when the cops show up. They agree to meet in a few days out in the desert and complete the deal. The Angels head for the meeting place. On the way they meet up with the Dragons and are invited to come party with some hippies in an old ghost town. The General, leader of the Dragons is a psychotic dwarf and his henchman Axe isn't to stable either. The trouble start when one of the hippie girls is murdered and the Dragons decide that one of the Angels did it. |
| "Any Which Way You Can" | 1980 | | You mentioned the Clint Eastwood movies with the orangutan "Any which way but Loose" et al. You'll be happy to know that the Beyootiful red Honda Chopper that the leader of the "Black Widows" rode still exists just as it appeared in the movies, except for an extended outdoors storage which now makes it a candidate for your "Roach of the Month" section as well! I'll try to get a pic to you, but the current owner is
a bit of a grouch. He also has the "Ponch Near Death Crash Bike" Suzuki so I'll try that one as well. (Contributed By Mark) | Synopsis: Philo takes part in a bare knuckle fight - as he does - to make some more money than he can earn from his car repair business. He decides to retire from fighting, but when the Mafia come along and arrange another fight, he is pushed into it. A motorcycle gang and an orangutan called Clyde all add to the 'fun'. |
| "Angels Unchained" | 1970 | | As far as biker flicks go this is fairly mediocre. Well acted especially by Don
Stroud and it was obviously influenced by "The Magnificent Seven" and "The
Seven Samurai" but when you see a low budget film from AIP I kind of expect
some exploitation. An abundance of nudity and good amount of violence. This
film is really tame if you want to know the truth. A thin Tyne Daly takes off her
top but her chest is strategically hidden behind something. Not a bad biker
movie but it does need some sleaze and exploitation! | Synopsis: Biker Don Stroud, wandering across the country, is ready to finally settle down when he meets hippie commune member Tyne Daly. But when the neighboring townspeople try to drive the commune out, Stroud calls on his old chopper gang to even the score. With Aldo Ray, Luke Askew. |

| "Another 48 Hours" | 1990 | | In "Another 48 Hours", the Jump bikes used in the Freeway scene started out as Honda's (the big Paris to Dakar type v-twin off-roader, I can't recall the name) with a bunch of HD parts added. (Contributed by Mark) | Synopsis: A sloppy white police officer has to team together with his black buddy who has only a few days left until he gets released from prison. | "Attack Of The Killer Tomatoes" | 1978 | Ossa Phantom 250 | I noticed your vintage bikes in the movies......there is one with a 74 250 pantooooom. I think it was released in suumer 78....maybe early 79 "Attack Of The Killer Tomatoes" and the Ossa was ridden by Ossa racing legend Keith Lynas!!!!!! A little trivia! | Synopsis: After a wave of reports of mysterious attacks involving people
and pets being eaten by the traditionally docile fruit, a special
government task force is set up to investigate the violent veggies
and put a stop to their murderous spree. Included in this crack
team are a lieutenant who never goes anywhere without his
parachute, an underwater expert who's never out of his scuba
gear, and a master of disguise who conceals his appearance by
dressing as a black Adolf Hitler. |
| "Bad News Bears" | 1979 | Harley Davidson Z-90 | Shawn writes...How about "The Bad News Bears", about a kids baseball team. One of the kids rode to practice on a small dirt bike! "I believe the kid (Kelly) rode a H/D minicycle". Alain Coulom writes...About the Bad News Bears movie... the scene about the bike occurs relatively early in the film....
I'm almost 100% certain that the bike the kid is riding on is an Aermacchi (AMF Harley-Davidson) two stroke motorcycle.. Most likely a sprint 250...we watched the clip numerous times, and compared the gas tank graphics, the shape of the bike, and other features, and because of my interest in the Sprint, I'm almost certain it is....It's tough though, since the clip is so short, and the bikes moves away relatively quickly.... James Dillard writes...The character "Kelly" rode a 1975? Harley-Davidson Z-90 in the movie "Bad News Bears" from 1979. I know this because I bought a 1975 Z-90 and had it stripped by the dealer to make it look like a dirt bike. The owner of the dealership told me he sold 2 more stripped down Z-90's after he put mine on display before they delivered the bike to me. Just maybe the movie got the idea for that bike from mine. I really wish I still had this cycle, but I sold it as a teenager. | Synopsis: To avoid a year in jail, swimming pool cleaner Morris Buttermaker agrees to coach a Little League baseball team called the Bears. Unfortunately, the Bears are the worst team in the league, boasting a roster of the most inept and least disciplined players in school. Buttermaker, with the help of principal Rappant, eventually wins the respect of the Bears, and they even win a few games along the way. |
| "Batman" | 1989 | Norton Commando | ...Also, the first Batman movie where Burt Ward rides up to Wayne Manor on a Norton Commando. A few minutes later he's in Bruce's gararge looking at Vincent Black Shadow's ! (Contributed by Mike Bolton) | Synopsis: After a young boy witnesses his parents' murder on the streets of Gotham City, he grows up to become the Batman - a mysterious figure in the eyes of Gotham's citizens - who takes crime-fighting into his own hands. Perhaps millionaire Bruce Wayne and photographer Vicki Vale have a good chance of finding out? |
| "Beach Blanket Bingo" * Frankie Avalon * Annette Funicello | 1965 | | Some of the Frankie and Annette beach movies have a biker gang and bikes (remember Eric Von Zipper) (Contributed by Mark) | Synopsis: Between surfing, partying and miming to cheesy songs, Frankie
and the gang find time to enter a parachuting competition, meet a
mermaid and rescue a girl singer from the clutches of the evil
bikers. |
| "Beyond The Law" | 1992 | | | Synopsis: Dan Saxon is an undercover cop who infiltrates a biker gang to nail the scum behind a drug-smuggling operation. In order to maintain the trust of the gang's leader, he must commit ever more dangerous and heinous crimes. Just how far 'beyond the law' will Saxon go? |
| "Big Jake" | 1971 | Harley Davidson with Montesa Motor | Do you remember the "Big Jake" with John Wayne. Well if you do, you'll remember one of his sons jumping this crazy looking 1912 bicycle style harley davidson. It actually was an actual Harley but with a "Montesa" motor. Thats why he could actually get air. Next time, take a look at the motor and you'll see.
There were a couple of different "Big Jake" HD Montesa's, One used a lot of HD bits to appear correct and the "Jump Bike" was a a heavily modified Montesa. (Contributed by Mark) | Synopsis: The McCandles ranch is run over by a gang of cutthroats led by the evil John Fain. They kidnap little Jacob McCandles and hold him for a million dollar ransom. There is only one man who is brave enough and smart enough to bring him back and that man is Big Jake. |
| "Bike Boys" | | | | |
| "Billy Jack" | 1971 | BSA Victor | | Synopsis: Billy Jack is a half-Indian/half-white ex-Green Beret who is being drawn more and more toward his Indian side. He hates violence, but can't get away from it in the white man's world. Pitting the good guys, the students of the peace-loving free-arts school in the desert vs. the conservative bad guys in the near-by town, the movie plays definitive late-60s themes/messages anti-establishment, make love not war, the senseless slaughter of God's creatures, the rape of society (figuratively and literally), two-sided justice, racial segregation and prejudices, and basic socialist ideals. |
| "Black Rain"
| 1989 | | In the opening scene of Black Rain Michael Douglas rode a Harley XLCR caferacer. (Contributed by Ralph Panhuyzen) On your page you wrote that in the opening scene of Black Rain Michael Douglas rode a Harley XLCR caferacer. That's not true, the bike is EVO sportster ( 1986 ->) which has a "body kit" installed. If you look engine of the bike you notice it at once that in the movie bike is EVO instead of Ironhead. Other things are wheels, original had 7-spoke castwheels 19" and 18" but in movie there is 9-spoke 18" and 16" wheels...
Original XLCR 1000 Cafe Racer were year models 1977 and 1978, some source claim that 10-13 bike were assembled in 1979 parts that left over from year 1978. (Contributed by Seppo Siipola) | Synopsis: Two New York cops get involved in a gang war between members of the Yakuza, the Japanese Mafia. They arrest one of their killers and are ordered to escort him back to Japan. In Japan, however, he manages to escape. As they try to track him down, they get deeper and deeper into the Japanese Mafia scene and they have to learn that they can only win by playing the game the Japanese way. |
| "Boom Boom" | 1936 | | | Synopsis: World War I, apparently. There is a series of quick blackout
gags, including a soldier that throws the pin, is blown sky-high by
the grenade, and is caught in a net by an ambulance driver; one
soldier's encounters with very smart bullets; a machine gunner
with the jitters. Porky leads a charge, but with no support from
his company, he runs back and dives under Beans' bunk. After a
quick chorus of "You're in the Army Now," a messenger pigeon
drops in with news that General Hardtack is being held prisoner.
They dash off in a motorcycle/sidecar, chased by another smart
bullet, and arrive in the nick of time to dispatch the general's
captors. They fly off in a plane and get shot down to end up
together in the hospital. |
| "Boris and Natasha" | 1992 | | | Synopsis: Boris Badenov and Natasha Fatale are still spies for the mean little country of Pottsylvania, where, sandwiched between the nations Wrestlemania and Yoursovania, the Cold War is still frigid. Their Fearless Leader hatches a plan to capture a time-reverse micro-chip, using the two spies as high-profile patsies. They clumsily defect to America and try to unravel F.L.'s master plan. But can these dim-witted fools survive a secret assassin, exploding potatoes and the temptations of capitalism? And what of their old foes, "Moosk unt Squoirrel"? |
| "Born Losers" | 1967 | | | A malicious motorcycle gang harasses the residents of a small
California town, intimidating most residents to not report them to
the police. Among the gang's crimes is the rape of four young
women. As the gang attempts to threaten the women into not
testifying at the indictment hearing, one of the women, Vicki,
comes under the protection of Billy Jack, who has also had
several altercations with the gang. The gang escalates their
pressure on both Vicki and Billy Jack to keep her out of the
courtroom. |
| "Born To Ride" | 1991 | Harleys | | |
| "Boy Called Hate, A" | 1995 | | | Synopsis: Scott Caan, the young son of James Caan, stars here in the title role, a teenage
delinquent released from jail. Hate, after being released the same day, commits a
crime, where he leaves a man for dead after he finds him attempting to rape a girl
(Missy Crider). The two hit the road, in the usual, cynical way most films take it.
Crider is not a good actress, and her performance does little for her typically bitter,
depressed, hard-to-get-into-yet-lovable-as-time-goes-by chick. Although at first
Caan seemed like a cocky wannabe actor, but as the movie rolls along, he shows
great depth (and the scenes between him and "Smoke Signals"'s Adam Beach, as
an Indian, are the best of the film. Those two generate more chemistry than
twenty times that of Caan and Crider.) |
| "Breaker, Breaker"
| 1977 | Yamaha YZ 125 | | Synopsis: Truck driver searches for his brother, who has disappeared in a town run by a corrupt judge. |
| "Breaking Away" | 1979 | | | |

Harry handsomely to retrieve it. An ex-spy friend tips Harry off
that it's being sent to Beijing by train, aboard which we begin to
learn whose side everyone's really on. |
| "Bullitt" * Steve McQueen * Robert Vaughn * Jacqueline Bisset * Robert Duvall | 1968 | BSA 650 | In "Bullitt", Bud Ekins lays down a BSA 650 at speed in one of the big crash scenes. (Contributed by Mark) Ken Moore writes... I think the Bike in Bullitt was a " Triumph 650" not a BSA. Look close at the movie. | Steve McQueen plays the role of a no glitter, all guts cop named
Frank Bullitt. He and two other cops are assigned to what seems
like a normal case : to watch a witness for 48 hours before he
goes to trial on Monday. When the officers and the witness are

|
| "Cannonball" | 1976 | | Also there was a movie called ''Cannonball'' with David Carridaine(not sure of spelling) where they had a scene with a couple of bikers trying to stop him.The bikes included a couple of Husqvarna's and Ossa's. I believe the movie was made in the mid 70's.(Contributed by Bill Harkins) | Synopsis: The Trans-America Grand Prix is an illegal race held every year between Los Angeles, California and New York, New York. David Carradine plays a recently released convict, Cannonball Buckman, trying to restart his automobile racing career by entering the race. | "Cat & Mouse" | 1958 | | | |
| "CC & Company" * Joe Namath * Ann Margret | 1970 | | In CC Rider, Joe Namath, steals a F21M Kawasaki from the Kaw dealer and ties it on to his sissybar on his chopper to haul it home. That's the bike he rode in the MX races. - (Unknown) Loved that Joe Nameth movie, I think he rode kawasaki, but in all the race since, he's racing against Montesa orange tanker Cappra's. When C.C. leaves with his cut of the purse, the bikers kidnap Ann, and C.C. races Moon to win her freedom. |
| "Checkered Flag or Crash" * Joe Don Baker * Susan Sarandon * Larry Hagman * Parnelli Jones | 1977 | | Joe Don Baker in Checkered Flag or Crash (1977) all kinds of MX Bikes in that one. Saw it on speed vision not to long ago. | Synopsis: Ruthless drivers vie for $100,000 in a 1,000-mile, off-road car race in the Philippines |

| "CHiPs" | | Husky & CZ | How about CHiPs where the cops (good guys) took on the biker gang of hippies at what I think was referred to as Indian Dunes. I think it was "John" who took on the gang leader. Ponch couldn't risk getting a bug in those big 'ol teeth of his. I remember them riding a Husky and a CZ. And the hippies refered to the cops as "the Man". Classic!
Interesting "Chip's" note. Check out the first year's episodes and
you'll see they're riding Suzuki GS750 police bikes. This was during the
period where Harley had just lost the CHP bike contract to Kawasaki, so
when HD was asked to supply bikes for the show (action show, based in
CA, lots of crashing) , they said "NO!" as did Kawasaki who didn't want
their bikes crashed as well. The Suzies were prototypes, built (by AAR
racing, Dan Gurney) to evaluate whether or not they wanted to bid
against Kaw for the CHP contract. (Contributed by Mark) | Synopsis: "CHiPS," which stood for California Highway Patrol, followed
the daily beats of two state motorcycle patrolmen as they
patrolled the freeway system in and around Los Angeles. Officer
Jon Baker was the straight, serious officer while Frank "Ponch"
Poncherello was the more free- wheeling member of the duo;
both reported to Sgt. Joe Getraer, who gave out assignments
and advice in handling the cases. Each episode saw a
compilation of incidents, ranging from the humorous (e.g., a
stranded motorist) to criminal investigations (such as hijackings)
and tragic incidents (such as a fiery multi-car pile-up with
multiple deaths. Other aspects of Ponch and Jon's daily work
were highlighted as well; the social lives of both officers (they
were both single) often provided the lighter moments. On
occassion, Ponch and Jon were assisted by a female "Chippie" at
first, the very beautiful Sindy Cahill; and later, the more
wholesome Bonnie Clark. In 1982, Ponch got a new partner,
Bobby Nelson (series star Wilcox left the show that year), while
Nelson's younger brother, Bruce, was a trainee on the force. By
now, the female "Chippie" was the attractive Kathy Lindahan. |

Opening scenes feature a Kaw Z1R (Contributed by Mark) | Synopsis: City cop is on the trail of a serial killer. Loaded with action and violence. Stallone fans will love this Rambo-like movie with Stallone on the chase instead of the run. |
| "Come And See (Idi I Smotri)" | 1985 | | I also want to report a movie I saw with multiple Urals. The flick is "Come and See", in Russian with English subtitles, available on
video. Its about the German invasion of Russia during WWII. I assume the bikes are either Urals or Dniepers. There is a great scene with a lone rig putting through the fog. There is a bullet riddled, dead body tied to the sidecar with a sign over it...."FOR INSULTING THE COMMANDANT!" Later on in the picture the same rig is seen turning in circles, riderless,in reverse as the Germans look on in amusement. Not for the squeamish. | Synopsis: A boy is unwillingly thrust into the atrocities of war in WWII
Byelorussia, fighting for a hopelessly unequipped resistance
movement against the ruthless German forces. Witnessing scenes
of abject terror and accidentally surviving horrifying situations he
loses his innocence and then his mind. |
| "Coogan's Bluff" | 1968 | Triumph Bonneville | Theses Bonneville's were not vintage at the time... but it was a nice chase scene through Central Park. (Contributed by Les McConnell) This movie became the basis for the television series “McCloud,” starring Dennis Weaver and J.D. Cannon. Coogan’s Bluff us actually a large cliff extending northward from 155th Street in Manhattan, once was the site of the fabled Polo Grounds, home of the New York baseball Giants, and the first home of the New York Mets. | Synopsis: Coogan, an Arizona cop, is sent to New York to collect a prisoner. up to become street cleaners and at the Crazytown Fite Club,
the boxers relax and watch while the spectators brawl! Also, at

| "Pink Angels" | | | I've seen quite a few low-grade biker movies in my time too, and this is better than most! There are some genuinely funny bits in it, and nothing really squirm-inducing! Yes, it lacks any apparent plot, but so does "Easy Rider", of which it is a kind of pastiche. I'll admit it doesn't feature the kind of sex, violence or psychedelia that usually enliven this sort of movie, but it does have the young and sexy Dan Haggerty riding bare-chested through it, and that's good enough for me! Homosexuals travelling across country as bikers | |

where the fun is. Listen for a soundtrack by the late Eddie Rabbit in this one.

it all began. | |

II" because of some similar plot ideas to the
