I recently had to deal with some pretty bad service from so-cal Maico. They're still in business, but I'm not sure how.

I have done allright with gary over the phone , not so well with e-mail. Remember, maicos and the folks that know them well are older than the internet. try an old fashion phone call.

I also ordered parts from him about the same time. And have since written him off along with others. I consider the suppliers of parts for Vintage Bikes to be doing Us a favor as none of them are getting rich doing it. I have found that buying parts for Maicos is much more difficult than a Husqvarna even though there are more people doing it. I do recomend Canadian Maico, NW Maico CZ ,East Coast Maico and Motocentre. They have all proven that they can deliver and will make sure you You got what You needed. But even they have there hands tied behind there backs when they need to drop ship from somebody like Maicos Only, wich will tell them that they will ship it Friday, just not wich Friday.

Yes we should give credit to the ones who DO come through with the parts and services in a timely manner.

No real excuse to be six months out on parts without at least an explanation as to why.

I have had great luck with some of the parts suppliers, especially the ones who deal with CZ.

I kinda disagree. If the guy puts up a flashy website and takes orders that way I would expect them to respond to e-mails. money flowing in electronically should not be a one way valve. Parts need to come out the smae way money goes in.

I "Ditto" that 100%. Money is Money & Time is Time, it appears flashy So-Cal Maico has both.

This may not help you now but for future purchases I would hightly recommend East Coast Maico. Shipping was on time and service and help was excellent. Top-notch operation.

I second that on East Coast Maico - the part was shipped the day it was ordered.
