Why do I have to register? Well, you don't. The swapmeet exists as it always has and you are are free to use it. However, if you register you gain more control over your listings, have the ability to post photos and most importantly, search the listings, which will save you alot of time.
What about my privacy? As with all the websites that I own, privacy is very important. I do not sell or rent lists of registered users.
Are you accepting advertising?
Why don't I see an Icon on my postings? Icons appear on those accounts where the registered user has made a donation the swapmeet of at least 5 dollars. If you would like to make a donation, please login and click on the donation button
How do I post a photo with my ad? First thing that's required is that you have a registered account. Once you have registered, login to your account, click on "Post An Ad". You'll notice that most of the information is already filled in for you. Select the type of ad you are posting, enter the description in the comments section and where it says "Photo", check the box and then hit "Submit" at the bottom. When the next page loads, click on "Browse". This will allow you to navigate to where you have the photo stored on your computer. Select your photo and when done, click on "Upload Your Photo". When you click on this link, your photo will be uploaded to the server, resized to fit our format and will go into a pending area to be looked over and approved by staff.
Why do you have to approve my photo? Due to the open nature of this swapmeet, we want to take a look at all photos before they go online, to prevent someone from instantly uploading pornography or other photos that aren't MX related.
Where did my listing go? If you posted an ad and it suddently disappears, more than likely you did not read the posting guidelines and posted a photo that in some way makes a reference to your business. Business advertising is not allowed in the swapmeet and those posts are deleted.
I can't seem to get my posting to go through. What's happening? Prior to our program approving your ad, the entire text is sent through a number of filters, designed to filter out certain types of content, such as porn, foul language and other disallowed content. Additionally, our program looks for web and e-mail addresses in the body of the ad, which again are not allowed. All these safeguards are in place to prevent porn from creeping into the site.
What do all the little flags mean? Flags denote the level of financial support each person has contributed. The following information explains the flag system.
- $5.00 to $49.99 - No Flag, just icon
- $50.00 to $99.99 - Icon and one small checked flag
- $100.00 to $149.99 - Icon and two small checkered flags
- $150.00 to $199.99 - Icon and three small checkered flags
- $200.00 to $249.99 - Icon and four small checkered flags
- $250.00 to $299.99 - Icon and five small checkered flags
- $300+ Layer icon on top of large checkered flag.
